The Heart of It

I've spent my career helping people find what they're looking for — confidence, clarity, wellness, words. The form has changed over the years. The heart of it never has.​

My background spans two master's degrees and three decades of work across education, corporate training, and healing. I began as a high school communications teacher — public speaking, theatre, the art of finding your voice. From there I moved into professional training, working with over 1,600 employees across three shifts at the DiGiorno Pizza factory, a Schwan's subsidiary, and later leading development programs at Bank of America. It was at Schwan's that I first supported citizenship efforts for immigrant workers — a thread that runs quietly through everything I've done since.​

Then I did something unexpected: I earned a Master's in Acupuncture and built a healing practice. I practiced until 2020, when the pandemic arrived and my son needed me. I closed the doors without hesitation. That chapter taught me something I carry into every classroom: healing takes courage. Growth takes patience. And the people doing the hardest work are often the quietest ones in the room.​

I came to English language teaching through volunteering, and it felt immediately like home. In April 2026 I completed my TQUK Level 5 TEFL certification — and I haven't looked back.
